1. Exterior Electrical- Check to make sure exterior outlet/switches have weather tight covers securely installed. Moisture infiltration can cause damage to components and can be a safety concern. Check outlets/switches to make sure they are not damaged and free of debris and dirt. Damaged and debris filled components can cause additional damage and can be a safety concern.
  2. Exterior Light Fixtures- Check light fixtures to verify fixtures are operable. Verify the fixtures are properly secured and no wires are exposed. Unsecured fixtures can cause damage to the units and wiring which can cause damage and can be a safety concern.
  3. Gutters and Downspouts- Check gutters looking for unsecure and damaged sections. Next look for debris sticking out and signs of water overflow/leaking. Then check to verify the downspouts are secured to the structure. Damaged, overflowing/leaking and unsecured components can allow water to pool near the foundation and can cause moisture infiltration and/or damage to the structure. 1. Gutter Downspout Extensions- Check downspout extensions to verify they are attached, are not damaged, and direct water at least 6’ from the structure.
